Intercom, July 2011

July 13, 2011 by Eric Weidl

This is the first issue of Intercom, our monthly email designed to keep you in the loop and informed about what's going on at Intersites and around the web. We picked the name Intercom because it suggests communication and we thought it was a neat combination of Intersites and Communications.

We're planning to send Intercom the first Wednesday of each month. Each edition will be a summary of what's happening at Intersites. Naturally, we'll be highlighting interesting projects we've been working on and news about the company, such as new staff or capabilities.

We're significantly ramping up our communications and writing efforts at Intersites, and Intercom will contain a summary of the other new material we've produced in the last month. We'll be producing three different categories of information every month. They are:

- Alerts. We believe one of the most important roles in our relationship with our customers is to act as a guide, pointing out hazards (and opportunities) on the Internet. One of the tools we'll use in that role is our email Alerts. Alerts are urgent communications about issues, especially security matters, which could affect any of our customers. We'll send an Alert by email anytime we hear of a critical issue we think you need to be aware of.

- Suite 131, our blog. Suite 131 offers explanatory, insightful, and fun articles useful for everyone. Our goal is to add at least one article a week to Suite 131. We'll point out the most interesting ones in each edition of Intercom.

- Wisdom. We'll be producing a new case study or whitepaper every month and placing them in the "Wisdom" area of our site. The papers will detail eye-opening interactions with clients, explore prominent topics on the web, and review topics to enable you, our customer, to make better decisions about your web presence. Today, we are publishing our first whitepaper:

How Does Google Work, You Ask?

It describes how your site gets into Google and outlines the top 3 factors Google uses to rank your site. With this information, you can develop a strategy and tactics to improve your site's performance in Google and the other major search engines.

As always, we welcome your feedback and thoughts. If there's something you're interested in or wondering about, let us know! We'll do our best to provide you with the resources or knowledge you're looking for. If you don't want to receive this monthly email you can unsubscribe by emailing us back.

Until next month, Happy Internet.
